Most people feel stressed or anxious when things get too hard for too long. And some times under very difficult circumstances some people will have reactions that seem too difficult to bear.  When people find themselves suddenly in danger and are overcome with feelings of fear, helplessness or horror these events can be called traumatic experiences.  Some common traumatic experiences include being physically attacked or sexually abused, being in a serious accident or a disaster like a car accident or a fire, or being in a domestic violence situation.  If you are exeriencing symptoms like intrusive thoughts and memories, nightmares, avoiding people and places, using drugs or alcohol or feeling jumpy, jittery afraid and irritable this is the time to seek professional help.  If you are unable to find relief with the usual coping strategies that have worked for you in the past now is the time to get the help you need to reduce your stress and get your life back on track.

Dr. Gatti has been treating trauma and depresion and anxiety for over 20 years and is available to help you.
